**Position Summary**:
The Director, Brand & Creative is responsible for executing on the company’s corporate brand strategy and leading the in-house brand management and creative services team. The role plays a key role in providing brand and creative solutions across the enterprise to increase brand equity and elevate our creative product to help drive progress on the company’s goals and key priorities.

The Director—a strong, results-oriented strategic brand and creative leader—is responsible for overseeing brand strategy and management, and ensuring the quality of all creative products presented and delivered to our in-house partners. Works closely and collaboratively with our business brand and corporate marketing and sales teams, and other key areas of the company, to deliver strategically driven and thoughtful execution that ensures alignment on brand standards and creative direction. Leads a strong team of brand and creative professionals.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Brand management, creative strategy and development (copywriting, graphic design, web design, videography, print production) from concept through final product.
- Own, monitor and manage all brand assets both external and internal, including brand experience, portfolio, standards/guidelines, messaging, visual identity, and business alignment.
- Collaborate with business brand marketing, communications, sales and product teams to develop, implement and manage brand strategies in support of business objectives.
- Work cross-functionally to ensure brand guidelines are followed across all departments, locations and businesses; ensure brand standards are met with all Kemper assets including collateral, signage, promotional items, communications, video, campaigns, events, etc.
- Uses knowledge of marketing, digital and media industry trends/developments to present business building ideas for partners.
- Effective, strategic management of key vendors for brand and creative services to optimize performance.
- Oversight of the Kemper Shop including vendor selection and management, merchandise selection, quarterly performance reviews, inventory analysis, etc.
- Define and track our “internal agency” expectations and KPIs for quality, consistency, and timeliness of deliverables.
- Stay informed about latest design industry tools and technologies, and proactively introduce and integrate advances into the team's workflow.
- Solidify visual standards, design expectations, and brand consistency for internal team members and outside partners.
- Effectively manage all Kemper marketing/sales printing including print vendor and print storefronts.
- Lead and mentor the in-house brand and creative team of seven. Participate in building and tracking progress around business and professional development goals that align with Kemper’s business strategies.

**Position Qualifications**
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in strategic brand and creative services management; corporate experience a plus.
- Five-plus (5+) years’ experience as a people manager/leader.
- BS or BA in design, marketing, communications, creative production, advertising or other relevant degree required.
- Strong creative leader with ability to bring abstract thoughts/ideas to fruition while maintaining a perspective on the intention of the creative work.
- Ability to effectively manage the flow and deliver high quality work in a high-volume, multiple-project environment.
- Exceptional knowledge of brand strategy and management, concepts and practices.
- Omni-channel experience including print, web, content/video and live events
- Excellent project management and organizational skills, and ability to manage multiple projects at once.
- Strong visual/design sensibility; able to create, articulate and pitch concepts for internal business audiences.
- Results-oriented strategic mindset; ability to understand business goals, develop relevant KPIs of functional area, and measure, track, and report on a regular basis.
- Effective leadership, interpersonal and team collaboration skills; must have ability to build strong, positive working relationships with marketing leaders in business brands.
- Prior experience developing and managing a budget.
