The AV Rack Build Technician is primarily responsible for populating and completing
equipment rack builds in the Activu warehouse before they are shipped to project sites for installation. The position works alongside in-house engineering and testing staff to interpret rack elevation drawings and wiring diagrams, then use that information to fabricate equipment racks from warehouse inventory. The AV Rack Build Technician is in open communication with Project Managers and Engineers to coordinate deadlines, discuss equipment or design changes, and ensure that equipment racks are completed on time and to a high standard of
quality.

Duties of a Rack Build Engineer include but are not limited to:
Build and wire AV racks according to design specifications and wiring diagrams
Document rack builds and provide as-built drawings to project managers
Collaborate with project managers and field installation team to coordinate rack builds with installation schedules
Perform cable termination, most commonly RJ-45 and Phoenix Block connections
Maintain inventory of common equipment rack hardware like screws, cage nuts, shelves,lacing bars, various AV cables, and generate order requests to replenish stock
Adhere to company safety policies and procedures
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Assist with packing and unpacking of equipment racks and their components

**Experience**:
Minimum of 1 year of experience building AV racks for commercial installations
Strong understanding of audiovisual systems and components
Familiar with dressing Cat5/Cat6 cable and performing RJ-45 terminations
Must hold a valid U.S. Drivers License

**Skills/Certifications**:
MS Office Suite ? Mainly Excel, Teams and Outlook
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to think and work independently and meet necessary deadlines
Maintain positive interactions with colleagues and customers
Attention to detail
Mechanically and technically inclined, proficient with hand and power tools
AV Industry certifications always a plus

**Physical Demands/Work Environment**:
Reports to the Activu office daily in an Office/Warehouse work environment
Have the ability to stand and lift 50 pounds overhead.
Move individual and palletized AV equipment through the Activu warehouse either
manually or with a pallet jack
