This **International Trade Analyst** position is with the Office of Trade within U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and is located in Washington, DC.

Utilize your trade and trade technology expertise to enforce policy, protecting the U.S. economy from unsafe imports and unfair trade practices. Typical work assignments include but are not limited to:

- Analyzing results of trade trends and enforcement operations for risk and program effectiveness in one of CBP's Priority Trade Issues.
- Representing the Office of Trade/Trade Policy and Programs Directorate in a variety of settings and meetings and participating collaboratively with CBP counterparts and other government agencies to facilitate project completion, policy development, and/or civil enforcement actions.
- Identifying issues and developing short
- and long-term commercial trade intervention strategies to determine if enforcement actions are needed or if new or enhanced policy should be established.

**Salary and Benefits**

This position starts at a salary of $99,200.00 (GS-12, Step 1) to $153,354.00 (GS-13, Step 10) with promotion potential to $153,354.00 (GS-13, Step 10). Employees receive the full package of federal employment benefits that include health and insurance plans, a generous annual and sick leave program, and participation in the Thrift Savings Plan, a retirement plan similar to a traditional 401(k) offering.

**Qualifications**

You qualify for the **GS-12 grade level** if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:

- Assisting in planning, executing, and monitoring with others to facilitate project completion, and completing an issue-focused analysis for the agency's senior leadership.
- Participating in special projects and initiatives and performing special assignments that relate to international trade.
- Researching and determining or recommending appropriate actions that impact an agency.
- Assisting senior analysts in providing trade advice and guidance to customers and other government agencies to ensure enforcement of trade laws.

You qualify for the **GS-13 grade level** if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level, performing duties such as:

- Analyzing results of trade trends and enforcement operations for risk and program effectiveness.
- Participating in collaborative efforts with others to assist in project completion.
- Using computer systems and data analytics to identify areas of risk in global supply chains.
- Evaluating reports by analyzing facts, performing research, and preparing detailed responses relating to trade issues.
- Conducting analyses to enforce policy, collect accurate revenue, and protect the U.S. economy and consumers from unsafe imports and/or unfair trade practices.
