**Introduction**:
Located in the western part of the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, Loudoun County is a dynamic community that experienced significant growth over the past few decades with changing development environments, ranging from transit-oriented development at our new Metrorail stations, to redevelopment of existing neighborhoods, to maintaining and fostering our vibrant rural economy in the western part of the county. **Job Summary**:
(1) Conducts detailed Erosion Control Plan (ESC) Reviews to ensure plans meet the required standards and specification per the Virginia ESC or Stormwater Handbook and State Code.
(2) Manages ESC Plan Review and Grading Permit approval process in LandMARC (the County's Land Management System), including referring plans and coordinating reviews.
(3) Provides information to the public and applicants on general engineering practices related to ESC and information on Erosion Control Plan requirements per DEQ.
(4) Assists ESC staff with DEQ interpretations and assists inspectors and contractors with standards and specification interpretation and requirements.
(6) Approves ESC plans as conforming to federal, state and local regulations prior to issuance of grading permits.
Hiring salary is commensurate with experience.
**Minimum Qualifications**:
High School diploma or equivalent (college coursework in construction, fire prevention, engineering, or related field preferred); four (4) years of related work experience in construction trade, fire prevention, and/or inspection including interaction with the public; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
**Job Contingencies and Special Requirements**:
Employment is contingent upon successful background check completion, to include criminal and driving record checks.
The applicant must pass the certification exam for Virginia Erosion and Sediment Control Inspector and the Plans Reviewer certification within six (6) months of hire or Combined Administrator within six (6) months of hire. Applicant with Plans Reviewer or Combined Administrator preferred.
