**Position Description**:

- The Deputy Director will work with the Director of Logistics, Managers of Recruitment and Training and other staff members to manage the operations of the Logistics team in Election Worker Recruitment and Training. Deputy Director will liaise with other Departments and office to plan and support Logistics functions.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Direct, manage and support Recruitment and Training Managers, operations and projects (includes hiring, staff development, performance evaluation and more).
- Develop plans and coordinates recruitment and training development.
- Ensure successful, complete and timely delivery of team deliverables and project.
- Evaluate needs and recommend solutions for growth and improvement.
- Diplomatically communicates and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders.
- Policy and procedure development, including strategic planning (Data Analysis, reporting and forecasting election needs).

**Education and Experience**:

- Associate Degree or 30-60 hours in Business, Human Resources, Project Management, Political Science or related field from an accredited college or university.
- One (1) year Supervisory experience.
- One (1) year Training/Instruction experience.
- One (1) year Managing deadline-based projects experience.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Possess basic skills with the use of office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, and fax machines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work overtime without prior notice and work flexible hours as required.
- Must be able to work without direct supervision.
- Must possess good analytical, decision-making skills, prioritization and organizational skills.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be willing to travel to any destination required to participate or assist with office projects (e.g., Elections).

**Preferences**:

- Bachelor’s Degree (in Business, Human Resouces, Project Management, Political Science or related field)
- Some Human Resources and Training program development experience preferred.

**General Information**:
**Position Type and Typical Hours of Work**:
- Regular Full-time-
- Monday - Friday | 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.-
- Overtime mandatory during Election cycles.
- Ability to work overtime without prior notice and work flexible hours as required.

**Salary**:
- Depends on Qualifications-
- Based on 26 pay periods**Location**:

- Administration Building, 1001 Preston St., Houston, Texas 77002
- This position does not include paid parking; a subsidized Harris County Metro card is available after employees receive their first paycheck.

**Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen.**
