Support Specialist for Active

Would you like to make a difference in someone's life? Do you enjoy creative thinking and supporting others around their home and in community settings? With this assignment, you would be greatly helping two individuals You will develop a close working relationship with a primary caregiver and share the challenge of creating direction during outings, exercise and at events in a great community.

**SUMMARY OF POSITION**: Perform a variety of home and/or community based direct support duties to support an individual with autism and challenging behaviors in a caring way to promote their interests, energy, dignity, safety, health, welfare, rights, development and social inclusion; Provide transportation to individual when needed.

**POSITION AVAILABILITY**: Will craft a schedule that helps meet the needs of the individual, primary caregiver and another who is available for support, that can include weekday and weekend day hours in Longmeadow area. Your skill and reliability will assist primary care giver and a young man with intellectual disabilities. You will a help and a guide in preparation for, getting to and attend during activities of interest while promoting skill building, safety, focus and community involvement. Consistent attendance and good communication skills required. Must have experience working with people with intellectual disabilities & challenging behaviors.

**HOURLY RATE**:$25.00

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- Must be 18 years or older
- Valid Massachusetts driver's license
- Reliable transportation
- High school diploma or GED
- Two supervisory references.
- Driving record and CORI and Fingerprint check
- 2 - 3 years of related individual support experience
