HSC Builders & Construction Managers has a new opportunity to join our team as the Risk Manager. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Risk Management, you’ll identify and manage the risk exposure to all HSC construction projects, insurance and related contracts. You’ll assess the legal, environmental and reputational risks, plus risks to the workforce at HSC and provide guidance on ways to minimize exposure to HSC. You’ll work closely with Preconstruction, Project Managers, Safety, Human Resources and legal counsel to coordinate policies and communications. You’ll also contribute by evaluating, editing and approving all HSC contracts prepared by the Contracts Coordinator in an effort to mitigate the inherent risk exposure HSC may encounter.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Participate, manage Subcontracts and assist in preparing A&E and Design Build contracts
- Review and resolution of sub-contract issues related to insurance/ indemnity and general sub-contract provisions
- Manage owner contract review and negotiations
- Review front-end specifications for owner agreements.
- Assist with preparation and implementation of HSC Captive Insurance programs.
- Manage the relationship and performance of the captive program
- Provide coordination between the Broker, Adjusters, Legal Counsel for Captive and HSC Leadership.
- Oversee and manage HSC’s insurance coverage (workmen’s comp., general liability, errors and omissions etc.)
- Manage the timely submission of all claims by or against HSC.
- Manage the Subcontractor Default Insurance (SDI) program for pre-qualification of sub-contractors from a risk management perspective.
- Internal training of HSC staff in risk management.
- Estimating/Preconstruction: Ensure procedures & relationships are managed from a risk management perspective
- Procure builders risk policies.
- Procure bond requests.
- Review loss runs.

You Should Have:

- BS/BA Degree in related field or any equivalent combination of education and experience
- Preferred CRIS Designation or similar
- Valid driver’s license, personal transportation and the ability to travel to locations throughout the HSC project region
- 5-10 years’ experience in with project risk management
- 2+ years’ experience in construction contracting, risk analysis and bonding
- Strong computer skills (Procore, Microsoft Office 2013, Outlook preferred)
