- The Education and Employment Research Center in the School of Management and Labor Relations at Rutgers University seeks to hire a Research Associate to conduct grant-funded research conducted by the Education and Employment Research Center. **Description**:

This is a non-tenure track research faculty position on an annual contract with possible renewal contingent on the continuing need for the position, a positive formal evaluation, and availability of grant funding.

Working under the direction of the Director of the Education and Employment Research Center, some of the responsibilities of the Research Associate may include but are not be limited to:

- Working collaboratively with the Director and other researchers, design and lead multiple mixed-methods social science research and evaluation projects.
- Design, co-lead and conduct literature reviews of higher education and workforce topics to develop conceptual frameworks to guide and inform research projects.
- Oversee and conduct descriptive and inferential analyses using statistical software such as Stata, SPSS, SAS, R.
- Manage and conduct qualitative interviews with a range of respondents including students, higher education and workforce leaders, and employers.
- Develop coding plans and analysis using NVivo qualitative data management software; train and manage teams of staff to implement coding and ensure quality; participate in coding.
- Develop and oversee survey research, including the development, execution and analysis of surveys using Qualtrics.
- Synthesize multiple sources of data to develop findings and recommendations relevant for policy and practice.
- Prepare written reports, academic publications, technical reports, presentations, and external communications summarizing research methods, findings, and implications.
- Effectively communicate research methods and findings to both technical and non-technical audiences through written products and presentations.
- Mentor and manage research assistants and coordinate work with internal teams to support projects.
- Assist with development of new proposals and work plans.
- Travel to visit research sites in the field and present findings at meetings and conferences.
- Collaborate on the development of courses on education and workforce topics.

- 1. PhD in a social science discipline such as sociology, psychology, public policy, industrial relations.
2. Evidence of research and writing skills.
3. Demonstration of strong verbal and written communications skills required.

5. Experience with qualitative data management software (like NVIVO), survey development software (like Qualtrics) or quantitative analysis software (like Stata, SPSS, SAS, R) required.
6. Knowledge of community colleges, STEM education, economic development, and workforce development preferred.
