**Minimum Qualifications**

Six years of experience* in the provision of domestic or gender-based violence prevention services; the provision of human services, training and education, government, social justice or gender-based advocacy services; or public policy research and development.
- Substitutions: A bachelor’s degree may substitute for four years of specialized experience; a master’s degree may substitute for five years of specialized experience; or a Ph.D. may substitute for six years of specialized experience.

**Duties Description**

This position is in the Bureau of Law and Public Safety and is supervised by the Director of Law Enforcement Training of the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence (OPDV). The incumbent is responsible for the delivery, reporting, evaluation, and support in development of domestic violence training and/or technical assistance to various audiences, including law enforcement and public safety agencies, governmental and quasi-governmental entities, court and court staff, professional organizations in the law enforcement and criminal justice field, victim service provider organizations, and higher education institutions across New York State. This position will work in coordination with the Assistant Director for Technology Safety Initiatives to develop and deliver training to gender-based violence service providers and law enforcement related to OPDV’s “Protecting New Yorkers from Tech Abuse, Deep Fakes, and Sextortion” project.
The incumbent will work with stakeholders to address how current and emerging technology impacts the safety and privacy rights of victims, including:

- Educate victim advocates, parents and teens, and the public on ways to strategically use technology to increase and maintain safety and privacy.
- Train law enforcement and justice systems, social services, coordinated community response teams and others on tactics of technology abuse, sextortion and other crimes facing victims of gender-based violence.

Duties may include, but not be limited to:

- Assist in the development and delivery of training content in-person and on-line as outlined in the specified curriculum to support statewide training of professionals, including but not limited to gender-based violence service providers, law enforcement, and other system staff.
- Provide post-training support.
- Provide technical assistance to other government agencies and community organizations including assessing needs, collecting and maintaining data, and developing materials and job aids.
- Facilitate meetings and co-training curricula with staff from other agencies.
- Assist in the review of domestic violence related educational, training, informational materials, and policies.
- Conduct research to enhance project activities.
- Assist in the development of curricula and technical assistance materials.
- Recruit and coordinate training programs.
- Assist in the development of informational and outreach materials.
- Conduct outreach programs and presentations including coordinating project activities related to presentation delivery.
- Prepare written reports, facilitate data collection, and evaluate as required by the agency and/or funding sources.
- Perform other duties and special projects as required.

**Additional Comments**

NOTE:

- Travel may be required (approximately 20%), including during evening and weekends, depending on mission and assignment.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required, or otherwise demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.
