**Duties Description**

Under the general supervision of the Director of Public Information in the Bureau of External Affairs of the New York State Office for the Prevention of Domestic Violence, the position is responsible, in coordination with the Assistant Director for Technology Safety Initiatives, for assisting in planning and executing all communication efforts for the Office’s “Protecting New Yorkers from Tech Abuse, Deep Fakes, and Sextortion” project including public awareness campaigns, publications, social media and website management, with an emphasis on creating graphic content.
Duties may include but not be limited to:

- Support all communications needs of the project including drafting, editing, and disseminating written materials, public awareness campaigns and publications.
- Assist in the management of project’s digital communications strategy including the creative development, technical implementation, and curation of online content for digital platforms.
- Develop and manage agency graphic design needs.
- Develop and create communication materials and vehicles, such as social media graphics and flyers, using the Adobe Creative Suite.
- Implement recommended updates to agency online documents, including PowerPoint, forms, reports, and training and guidance documents using Adobe Acrobat.
- Use the content management system to create, modify, and edit webpages under the direction of management.
- Capture and analyze social and digital media metrics and assist in addressing issues.
- Provide oversight of all agency social media and external products as they pertain to branding guidelines and professional and standardized design.
- Assist supervisor in planning, executing, and evaluating project.
- Assist in the design or arrange for the design, set up, staffing and operation of displays and exhibits.
- Provide assistance and advice on community outreach and public participation and advises agency staff on matters regarding public presentations and media relations.
- Other duties as assigned.

**Additional Comments**

NOTE:

- Travel may be required (approximately 10%), including during evening and weekends, depending on mission and assignment.
- Possession and maintenance of a valid Driver’s License issued by the NYS Department of Motor Vehicle is required, or otherwise demonstrate the capacity to meet the transportation needs of the job.
