**SUMMARY**:Guards industrial or commercial property against fire; theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing the following duties.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Periodically Patrols, buildings and grounds of industrial plant or commercial establishment, loading docks, or work site. Examines doors, windows, and gates to determine that they are secure.

Observes and reports violators of rule infractions, such as loitering, smoking, or carrying forbidden articles, and reports or expels persons engaging in suspicious or criminal acts.

Inspect equipment and machinery to ascertain if tampering has occurred.

Observes and reports irregularities such as fire hazards, leaking water pipes, and security doors left unlocked.

Observes departing personnel to guard against theft of company property.

Sounds alarm or calls police or fire department by telephone in case of fire or presence of unauthorized persons. Permits authorized persons to enter property.

Records data such as property damage, unusual occurrences, and malfunctioning of machinery or equipment, for use of supervisory staff.

Regulates vehicle and pedestrian traffic at plant entrance to maintain orderly flow.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. **EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**:High school diploma of general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

**LANGUAGE SKILLS**:Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one one-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

**MATHEMATICAL SKILLS**:Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with IO's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.

**PHYSICAL DEMANDS**:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is occasionally required to stand, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop kneel, crouch, or crawl, and taste or smell.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee frequently works in outside weather conditions and is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Pay: $19.50 - $21.50 per hour
