**ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY**:
USF Research & Innovation (USFRI), a vice presidential division, is charged with the central administration and oversight of the USF research enterprise. USFRI promotes research; stimulates economic development and corporate partnerships; provides services and assistance to facilitate faculty, staff, and student research efforts; ensures compliance with research-related laws, regulations, and policies of federal, state, sponsoring agencies and organizations, and the university; and provides for the protection and promotion of intellectual property generated by USF System employees. The Office of the Vice President includes Central Services Administration (human resources, budgets/finance, purchasing, research technologies), Sponsored Research; Research Integrity & Compliance; Comparative Medicine; Technology Transfer Office/Patents & Licensing; USF Research Foundation, Inc.which includes USF CONNECT and the USF Research Park; the Institute for Advanced Discovery & Innovation, Faculty Honors & Awards, and Florida Inventors Hall of Fame, among others.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:
Coordinate and administer two internal faculty research recognition awards programs: USFRI Excellence in Innovation Awards, and Faculty Outstanding Research Achievement Awards.

Coordinate several annual events for USF Research, including: Student Research Awards Luncheon, Faculty Research Awards Luncheon, Faculty Honors events; and serve as USF Research liaison/coordinator for New Faculty Orientation/Expo event.

Serve as USFRI liaison to the Associate Deans of Research advisory group, and the USF Chapter of the National Academy of Inventors; and other advisory committees as assigned.

Administer, track, and report on departmental budget, travel, expenses, and contracts. Prepare check requests; submit purchases via PCard; coordinate with various other USF departments (e.g., Payroll, HR) as needed; maintain knowledge of USF contract management system, BullMarketplace, and related USF Purchasing tools.

Performs other duties as assigned.

**POSITION QUALIFICATIONS**:
**MINIMUM**:
This position requires a master's degree in an appropriate field of study, or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate field and two years of experience in administrative services. Four additional years of directly relevant and progressively responsible administrative experience may be substituted for the bachelor's degree.

FLSB1310 Equivalency:
4 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree.
6 years of directly relevant experience may be substituted for master's degree.

**PREFERRED**:
Minimum of two years experience working in an administrative role in a higher education/academic institution. Extensive experience with customer service, relationship building and interacting with stakeholders at all levels. Demonstrated ability to understand and execute basic fund budget management. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Experience with project management and event management. Experience with communications across platforms, including ability to create original content. Must be flexible and able to work both independently and in a team environment.
