**JOB TITLE**: PREVENTION & OUTREACH COORDINATOR

**IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR**:SENIOR PREVENTION & OUTREACH COORDINATOR/VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

**CLASSIFICATION**: NON-EXEMPT

Plans, develops, and facilitates in-person and virtual domestic violence training, workshops, school presentations, and other community education, awareness events, and outreach efforts in Winnebago and Boone Counties.

This is a full-time, 40 hour/week, position. Occasional evening or weekend hours may be required. Position requires reliable transportation between various locations in Winnebago and Boone Counties.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Provide in-person and virtual professional trainings and community education to diverse fields and organizations (i.e., medical, education, law enforcement, legal, faith communities, businesses, etc.) related to domestic violence (DV) and Agency services
- Provide age-appropriate prevention education programming on domestic violence, teen dating violence, and healthy relationships in schools and to other groups of youth
- Provide domestic violence training to volunteers/new-hires and the larger community as needed
- Research prevention and educational resources to develop programming for prevention of domestic violence
- Support efforts to promote awareness of domestic violence, including participation in Domestic Violence Awareness Month activities and other community events
- Promote and recruit for training/workshops to outside providers
- Collaborate with key stakeholders and community agencies to develop and strengthen community-based prevention and DV awareness strategies.
- Assist with targeted outreach to grow program reach, including development of public awareness and educational materials and maintaining relationships with key community partners
- Ensure outreach efforts and materials are inclusive and representative of community needs
- Record on a timely basis, accurate documentation of activities and services provided
- Attend staff meetings and participate in other programs or community agency meetings, as requested
- Perform all job functions consistent with confidentiality regulations, ethical practices and Agency policies and mission.
- Present and maintain a professional image in dress, behavior, and work habits.
- Promote a positive and pleasant attitude conducive to the workplace that enhances and furthers the Mission, Vision and Values Statement.
- Other duties as assigned

**KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS**:

- Bilingual Spanish/English, bicultural preferred
- Technology experience and excellent computer skills/knowledge. Proficiency with basic programs including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Windows-based databases and virtual meeting platforms.
- Flexible schedule allowing for occasional evening and weekend hours if needed
- Access to reliable transportation required
- Ability to participate in and successfully complete a comprehensive training program
- Possess high physical and emotional energy needed to handle the array of circumstances that may arise
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
- Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with clients, staff and the public
- Dependable self-starter with strong organizational and time management skills

**EDUCATION**:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services, Counseling, Social Work or related field required

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Experience in field of domestic violence and/or gender violence preferred
- Experience in professional training preferred

**CERTIFICATE/LICENSE**:

- Completion of the 40-hour domestic violence training as required by the Illinois Domestic Violence Act (IDVA) from an Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (ICDVP) approved training site. Will be provided at start of employment if needed.
