The Annual Fund and Prospect Research Manager reports to the Director of Development and will focus on building and implementing a year-round fundraising plan for the Meals on Wheels Central Texas Annual Fund. The fundraising plan will include goals, strategies, and programming that aim to build and engage our donor base, primarily through a robust direct mail program but also exploring new tools and techniques to expand the existing donor base. This position will work to ensure effective recognition of annual fund gifts through acknowledgment letters and the delivery of any necessary reports and communications, such as pledge reminders, to appropriate constituents. The Annual Fund and Prospect Research Manager will also oversee prospect research and database segmentation projects on behalf of the Advancement team of Meals on Wheels Central Texas to identify and refine the pool of potential major and planned gift donors.

Key responsibilities include:

- Work collaboratively with the Chief Advancement Officer (CAO) & Director of Development (DoD) to create and manage a comprehensive fundraising plan and appeal schedule for the annual fund:Set dollar, participation, and qualitative goals for the annual giving program.
- Create and implement strategies to achieve Annual Fund and organizational goals.
- Create and manage a calendar/schedule of multidimensional appeals that leverages a variety of media (e.g., electronic solicitation, direct mail appeals, face-to-face solicitations, events) to communicate with potential and current donors.
- Spearhead special fundraising campaigns, working in collaboration with development and communications staff.
- Assess program at the end of the year and lead annual planning.
- Develop Annual Fund Ambassadors program in partnership with DoD and CAO.
- Build relationships with constituents and personally solicit an assigned pool of prospects as appropriate.
- Utilize Salesforce reporting to segment donors, track campaign success, produce reports, and conduct appropriate follow-up.
- Collaborate with the Database Manager to ensure that all donations timely recognition of gifts.
- Draft and coordinate Annual Fund solicitation and stewardship letters.
- Provide notes for the CEO, CAO, and DoD to personalize thank-you letters.
- Analyze results of the annual fund by tracking progress from year to year and generate reports and statistics for board and executive committee meetings.
- Assist in preparing prospect research profiles for potential and identified major gift and high-level annual gift prospects for Meals on Wheels Central Texas.
- Monitor contact and internal giving reports for potential new prospects for major and annual fund giving and forward new leads to the DoD and CAO for engagement.
- Assess Annual Fund donors’ giving histories and capacities to create and build a pipeline between annual, major, and planned giving.
- Utilizing available resources provide data for all research and rating requests and provide verification of screened prospected research information (i.e. giving capacities) as requested.
- Maintain prospect research fields of data in the Salesforce database.
- Attend on-site and off-site events, as appropriate.
- Stay current on annual giving best practices and maximize use of data and other resources to make strategic recommendations and implementations.

The ideal Annual Fund and Prospect Research Manager would have:

- 3+ years of nonprofit experience which demonstrates successful engagement of key constituents
- fundraising management and best practice experience
- record of measurable results developing donor programs
- excellent written and verbal communications
- ability to build relationships internally and externally
- Salesforce or other donor database experience

This position is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement and primarily performs work indoors. Occasionally will perform work outdoors, travel locally and work evening/weekend events. Constantly reads information on a computer monitor and in writing, and constantly uses keyboard, mouse and manual dexterity. Frequently moves about inside the office to access general office equipment.
