What you will do...
As a Server, you are responsible for encompassing our goal of providing each guest with exceptional customer service and high-quality food that provides an authentic Mexican Cuisine experience.
- Must enjoy working with people; greet guests with a warm and friendly smile and engages in friendly conversation.
- Takes guests’ food and drink orders.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and provides genuine recommendations guests will enjoy. Memorizes all menu items as well as any specials.
- Collaborates with kitchen/wait staff ensuring guests are served their complete order quickly, efficiently and in a pleasant manner.
- Delivers a memorable guest experience by providing exceptional customer service and as needed resolving all guest issues promptly.
- Ensures quality/cleanliness of facilities, assisting with the tidying of tables, clearing leftovers and keeping the dining area neat and pleasant.
- Setting tables and rearranging the dining area to accommodate larger groups and prepare the restaurant for special events.
- Accepts payment in the form of cash, checks, and credit or debit cards for purchases.
- Ability to respond to guest inquiries and concerns in a friendly and courteous manner while providing accurate information and resolving conflict as needed.
- Prepares and serves beverages and food items consistently by adhering to all recipe standards, while also delivering exceptional customer service.
- Assist with setup, cleanup, stock work and handling of food items.
- Work with team members to deliver efficient service while simultaneously providing exceptional customer service.
- Ensures accurate transactions by balancing cash register at the beginning and end of shift; adheres to company standards.
- Processes returns according to policy.
- Identifies prices of products and services and tabulates customer orders with available equipment or manually when necessary.
- Bag, box, pour and wrap food items.
- Interact with internal and external customers in a courteous and respectful manner.
- Assist and cover Host as needed to manage waitlist, seat customers at tables, monitor restaurant activity to determine seating and dining flow.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Good verbal communication skills. Ability to speak and read English is required,
Bilingual
- Spanish speaking required.
- Ability to operate available equipment, such as cash registers, calculators, scanners, etc.
- Basic mathematical skills, as needed to make change and give refunds.
- Experience entering orders into a Point-Of-Sales (POS) system and manually is preferred.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- A food handler’s certificate as required by local and state regulations.
- Successful completion of on-the-job training.
- One-year experience working in a restaurant as a server or in customer service required.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing, walking and working at cash register or other equipment.
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
- Will need to work days, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to perform repetitive movements over long periods of time.
**Job Type**: Part-time
Pay: $16.90 - $17.20 per hour
