**Position Summary**

The buyer works closely with the sales team, our engineers, our team of suppliers, and the receiving department. The buyer is responsible for ensuring all materials required for projects will be delivered on time.

**Responsibilities**
- Review approved shop drawings to determine a bill of materials.
- Identify the anticipated lead time of various components for vendor selection, and to best expedite the completion of the project per the customer schedule.
- Negotiate the best pricing and lead time from each vendor.
- Report the status of all open orders to the production team during a weekly production meeting.
- Review open purchase order reports and verify accuracy.
- Coordinate the pickups and deliveries of goods from local vendors.
- Coordinate with the Logistics manager for overseas shipments.

**Qualifications**
- Good communication skills to actively seek solutions and raise any concerns that may affect the viability of projects.
- Good negotiation skills
- Project coordination, or management skills to successfully manage the purchasing for several projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to walk to the shop floor to review products with the receiving team when needed.
- Strong Math Skills.
- Ability to read blueprints (CAD drawings) is helpful.
- Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams and Internet research.
- Ability to drive to supplier locations to review product status when needed.

Pay: $40,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
