The position of Operator II reports to the Highway Superintendent and performs skilled and unskilled manual labor and operates town vehicles. Employee is required to perform all similar or related duties as required or requested. CDL required.

**Essential Duties & Responsibilities**
- Operates DPW vehicles land equipment in various public works construction, maintenance and repair operations.
- Operates equipment in snow plowing, removal, sanding and/or salting streets, sidewalks and parking areas.
- Responsible for laborer type operations in fixing equipment and maintaining grounds.
- Responsible for routine DPW maintenance work including but not limited to patching pot holes, cement and masonry work, road and sign maintenance, clearing and chipping of trees and brush, basic woodworking, building and basic vehicle maintenance work.
- Performs manual labor incidental to operating assigned DPW equipment.
- Responsible for the routine scheduled serving and periodic or emergency maintenance of assigned vehicles and equipment.
- Performs other related work as required or requested by the Highway Superintendent or Director of Public Works.

**Desired Minimum Qualifications**

**Education and Experience**

High school diploma or GED. Associates Degree preferred or any equivalent combination of education, training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the essential functions of the job.

Valid Driver's License with no restrictions that would limit or adversely affect insurability. Motor Vehicle Operator Driver’s License
- CDL B.

Pay: Up to $26.94 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
