Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant Operator II to join our team at Yale New Haven Health. As a key member of our facilities department, you will be responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance, and repair of all mechanical, heating, refrigeration, and air-conditioning systems, equipment, and related facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the installation, operation, and maintenance of building automation systems and respond to all alarms and facility calls.
  • Perform periodic preventive maintenance on assigned equipment within the assigned time frame.
  • Stay up-to-date with any changes in the physical plant and contribute to the productive and efficient operation of the Facilities Department.
  • Operate the building automation system and respond to all alarms and facility calls.
  • Work well with supervisors and others in authority positions and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A high school graduate or equivalent, with trade school graduate or completion of an approved trade apprenticeship program in commercial heating/ventilation/air conditioning and building management controls.
  • A valid CT OE2 license or the ability to sit for the CT OE2 test within 6 months of hire.
  • At least five years of experience in a comparable field, preferably in a healthcare environment.
  • Excellent mechanical skills and the ability to work in a noisy environment with occasional extreme temperature variations.
