The Durst Organization is seeking an Engineer Helper. This position will have a schedule of **Monday-Friday from 11:00pm-7:00am** **(days off Saturday and Sunday).** Ability to work extra shifts or hours as requested.
This is a Local 94 union position and will be based at our commercial property located at **One World Trade Center**.
Salary Range: $27.23-$38.90 per hour.
**Responsibilities**:
- Desire to gain knowledge of HVAC systems and develop mechanical skills
- Ability to safely use hand and power tools to perform repairs of equipment
- Record relevant events and facts concerning operation and maintenance in an equipment log
- Complete tasks as assigned by Chief Engineers within your skill set level
- Computer skills are desired in Microsoft Word, Excel, and ability to learn other programs for building rounds, BMS and energy management
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned to support tenant requests
- Trial Period shall be 120 days, must meet milestones of Enrollment and attendance in Local 94 training program, compliance with company’s work attendance and handbook polices
- Pre-Employment (Local 94) Substance Abuse testing requirements

Qualifications:
**Qualifications - Areas of Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**:
- A high school diploma or high school equivalency is required
- Must attend Local 94 union school for 3 years until completion while position is held
- Physical ability to climb ladders and lift up to 75 lbs. on a regular basis, enter and operate in confined spaces, operate power tools
- Ability to work with exposure to elements such as odor, noise, dust, heat, cold, or chemicals
- A-35 Operate Air Compressor
- F-01 Citywide Fire Guard for Impairment
- F-60 Fire Guard for Torch Operations
- G-60 Torch use of flammable gas.
- S-12 Supervision of Sprinkler Systems
- S-13 Supervision of Standpipe Systems
- S-14 Supervision of Multi Zone Standpipe system
- S-95 Supervision of Fire Alarm Systems
- P-98 Fuel Oil Piping and Storage System
- P-99 Low pressure Oil Burner Operator
