Position Summary: The Bureau of Police & Security is looking for a Machinist Assistant to join the Security Engineering Unit. This role is based at the DEP office in Valhalla, New York.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support machinists in executing various machine shop tasks.
• Assist in the operation of machine shop tools, including engine lathes, shapers, and grinders.
• Diagnose and resolve service issues related to mechanically operated security devices.
• Conduct routine maintenance on security machinery.

Travel Requirements: This position necessitates travel across multiple locations within upstate New York counties and the five boroughs of New York City.

Qualifications:
- A minimum of three years of full-time paid experience as a Machinist's Helper within the last decade.
