Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Power Plant Mechanic to join our team at Mount Sinai Health System. As a Power Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing power plant equipment to ensure efficient and safe operation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Repair and maintain boilers, engines, and other related equipment
  • Lead and work with power plant helpers in repair and maintenance procedures
  • Evaluate the operating status of machinery and equipment throughout the shift
  • Receive instructions and procedures for repair and cleaning from the watch engineer or power plant supervisor
  • Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks, including mixing and preparing cleaning solutions
  • Advises the watch engineer of equipment deficiencies and job requirements
  • Performs miscellaneous and emergency duties as required
Requirements
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Three years of experience in power plant maintenance, plus two years of experience as a mechanic helper
  • Working towards a welding and burning permit
