Consistent with the mission, vision, and values of the National League of Cities, manage and implement website content to expand NLC outreach, grow our membership, and drive organization revenue.

**DUTIES** AND RESPONSIBILITIES**

**Digital Content Strategy**
- Collaborate with the DEMC Director and Program leadership to set overall social and video content strategy. Plan, organize and launch content deliverables related to marketing projects and organization priorities.
- Manage organic and paid campaigns across multiple search engines and social properties (Google, Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram), including campaign planning, implementation, budget management, performance review, and optimization.
- Manage the video production process for videos produced for events and social media. Liaise with design, program teams, and external vendors to ensure timelines are met. Engage stakeholders to ensure video strategy supports organizational and marketing goals.
- Develop, create, and manage engaging content that aligns with our brand strategy, and addresses the needs and interests of our multiple stakeholders on the NLC blog and across digital platforms.
- Collaborate with team members to develop a content strategy that promotes internal and external user engagement.
- Prioritize efforts, set campaign goals, develop project plans, and allocate resources and team members accordingly.
- Take all steps to maximize the reach and benefits from ongoing campaigns. Monitor and evaluate the performance of ongoing content against stated goals and objectives. Promptly initiate tweaks and changes to content as needed.
- Curate and manage video and photo libraries housing digital assets across the organization.
- Create periodic performance reports on social media and video objectives and results.

***Digital Content Development**

Writes, proofreads, and edits content; works closely with Marketing and Communications in developing and managing an editorial calendar to ensure timely content and collaborates with marketing and design teams to ensure consistent brand messages across all channels.
- Manage the online reputation and brand of NLC. Agree on approaches for messaging in alignment with overall NLC strategies, goals, and current initiatives. Ensure the NLC brand and voice is well-embedded in all content.
- Coordinate the development of content, graphics, and other media with DEMC team members and third-party vendors as appropriate. Build sustainable working relationships with stakeholders through honest, open, and interactive communication.
- Audit the existing content on NLC’s digital platforms for brand voice, relevance, and optimization.

**Analysis and Improvement**
- Work with marketing strategists, web developers, and internal communication teams to measure content effectiveness, brand awareness, lead generation, customer loyalty, and user engagement.
- Create and measure relevant KPIs and ROIs for digital marketing projects. Actively share data and results with stakeholders. Identify trends and patterns that can be used to enhance the success of current and future campaigns.
- Conduct market research to identify challenges and opportunities for growth. Stay current with new advances in digital marketing and related fields. Continually find and implement new ways to achieve better results.
- Proactively seek, identify, and evaluate innovative opportunities to enhance digital content.
- Use data-driven research to enhance current content strategies, tactics, tests, and recommendations.
- Review and analyze feedback and keep current with emerging trends.
- Use feedback and enhancements to improve content strategies.
- Adhere to the internal policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties and complete special projects as assigned.

**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Experience working in or directly with municipal governments is strongly preferred.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field and 10 years of practical experience in the program area, or Master’s degree in a related field and 8 years of practical experience in the program area (Master’s degree preferred)
- At least 3 years of experience leading a non-profit program's planning, implementation, and/or administration, ideally focused on training, technical assistance, and/or information sharing.
