**Position/Organization Summary**:
Reporting to both the American Trauma Society, Pennsylvania Division (ATSPA) Chief Executive Officer and the Safe Kids Pennsylvania (SKPA) State Office Coordinator, the Safe Kids PA State Office Associate is a full-time, professional position (40 hours per week).
Led by the ATSPA, SKPA is dedicated to preventing unintentional childhood injuries and deaths throughout the state of PA. These injuries range from accidental falls, to poisonings, car crashes, drownings, and many more. SKPA promotes and supports childhood injury prevention activities through education, collaboration, and advocacy throughout Pennsylvania. SKPA is one of many statewide coalitions under Safe Kids Worldwide.
The State Office Associate will work alongside the State Office Coordinator to support local Safe Kids coalitions and partners of the state in PA, providing critical support to State Office initiatives.
**Position Responsibilities**:
**Planning**
- Manage event logistics, in collaboration with the State Office Coordinator
- Research and compile relevant resources to support child safety initiatives and prevent unintentional injuries
- Support the development of work statements, project budgets, strategy plans, and other program deliverables and reporting requirements
**Coordination**
- Establish and maintain partnerships with coalitions, partners of the state, government agencies, and other community organizations
- Coordinate meetings, facilitate discussions, and encourage collaboration among the Safe Kids PA network to address issues related to child safety
- Provide support to SKPA coalitions and partners of the state alongside the State Office Coordinator
- Serve as a liaison between Safe Kids Worldwide and SKPA coalitions as necessary, including attending meetings and conferences, disseminating information, monitoring coalition compliance, and other relevant duties
**Financial**
- Assist in raising funds or identifying resources to support efforts of local Safe Kids Pennsylvania coalitions
**Public Relations/Outreach**
- Represent Safe Kids PA at national, statewide, and local meetings, events, task forces, and/or committees that relate to childhood injury prevention
- Coordinate Safe Kids PA advocacy efforts and media outreach
**Qualifications**:
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited degree program
- 3 years’ experience with educational program facilitation required; experience with injury prevention programming preferred
- Dedication to evidence-informed or evidence-based injury prevention work, and a commitment to ending health disparities and promoting health equity
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and ability to work both independently and collaboratively, with diverse groups of people
- Integrity, passion, idealism, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed

**Job Site**:
The ATSPA/SKPA operates on a hybrid schedule: two days weekly on-site in Mechanicsburg, PA and three days remote work. While the employee will need their own at-home wifi and printing capability in order to conduct work remotely, a company laptop will be provided, along with supplies, equipment, and materials essential to remote work.
**Hours of Operation**:
Monday - Friday, 8am-4pm, including a 1 hour paid lunch break.
**Travel**:
This position may have infrequent travel, and it is expected to be less than 10% of total time.
**Salary and Benefits**:
**Salary**: $40,000 annually, as determined by the most recent salary market analyses. Starting salary is non-negotiable.
