Patient Access Representative

**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Welcomes patients to the facility; serves as primary point of contact for patients and visitors.
- Comforts patients by answering preliminary non-medical questions, anticipating their anxieties and maintaining the reception area.
- Schedule appointments in person or by phone.
- Perform patient check-in/check-out procedures.
- Collect co-pays when applicable.
- Act as liaison between clinical staff and patients.
- Verify patient benefits
- Represents clinic in a professional manner. Treats all customers, internal and external, in a courteous and cooperative manner.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Attends required meetings and participates in team activities and professional development activities.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year clerical experience in a medical office environment.
- Ability to multi-task in a stressful deadline-oriented environment.
- Ability to communicate with coworkers, providers and patients in an effective manner.
- Ability to use a computer and enter data in electronic medical record system.

Pay: Up to $16.50 per hour
