LOCATION: Juan Morel Campos Secondary School

REPORTS TO: Assistant Community School Director/Youth Employment Coordinator

SALARY: $22 Per Hour/ 35-hours

DATES: July 2024- August 2024, Seasonal Position

SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, (35 hours a week)

JOB SUMMARY:
As part of our Youth Services Department’s vision: all Worksite Monitor Staff will assist in supervising and ensuring the safety of individuals at the worksite, assist with administrative tasks related to worksite operations, and uphold the values and mission of Grand Street Settlement in all interactions.Our Worksite Monitor will assist in the day-to-day functioning of the youth employment program and ensure that youth are learning and building hard skills through the completion of the SYEP program year. The Worksite Monitor will be responsible for engaging monitor attendance and documenting any incidents or issues, and collaborate with team members to maintain a positive and productive work environment.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND REQUIREMENTS:

- High School Diploma required; College Degree preferred
- Must have 2+ years’ experience working in specialized field
- Must have experience working with and devising curricula around specialization
- Must demonstrate timeliness, attendance and most importantly, professionalism.
- If offered the position, must submit $25 fee for New York State Clearance Review
- Valid CPR/AED Pro certification through recognized accrediting body preferred.
- Valid First Aid/RTE certification through recognized accrediting body preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Must complete NYS OCFS Mandated Reporter and Foundations in Health and Safety trainings.
- Facilitate Orientation/Education Workshops participants with a provided curriculum.
- Serve as a mentor to participants by supporting positive behavior and teaching life skills to youth.
- Responsible for supervising all participants during activities
- Responsible for maintaining classroom space in an organized, socially distanced, and clean fashion
- Responsible for maintaining daily log of all incidents/ injuries
- Chaperone youth group during outdoor activities, and project-based activities, and other field activities
- Assist with all aspects of programming (i.e., following organizations mission, supervising all youth, working collectively, and communicating with all staff)
- Administrative duties include follow-up calls to participants and parents
- Attend all required department/agency meetings and/or trainings
- Create and facilitate project-based lessons and curriculum with the assistance of the Education Coordinator.
- Implement and facilitate projects and recreational activities for participants.
- Take initiative to assist program participants and staff as needed
- Maintain program supplies and ensure proper use of all supplies.
- Help enforce all rules and regulations and codes of conduct
- Other duties as assigned.
