**POSITION TITLE: Quality/Validation Lead**
**DATE: 6/10/2024**
**SHIFT: Mon - Fri Days (Approximately 8 hrs/day)**

**Description**:
The primary responsibility of the Quality Working Lead will be providing leadership and consistent direction to Quality Associates to achieve company goals for Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost while satisfying the requirements of Quality Management System. In addition, this position will perform analysis and testing of AFA parts and materials, particularly those that are made during the validation stages prior to job launch. A reasonable understanding of AFA’s production equipment, nonwoven and thermoforming, as well as a basic understanding of staple fiber properties is preferred. This position reports to the Assistant Quality Manager.
**Responsibilities**:
- Develops system and database for storing and utilizing laboratory testing results.
- Ensures compliance too and maintains accuracy of laboratory test procedures.
- Ensures associates understand and follow safe working practices as outlined in JSAs and SWDs.
- Ensures that associates assigned to GP-12, sheet inspection, and re-inspection activities are properly trained and are following the proper procedures, work instructions, and SWDs.
- Ensures auditor focus is reflective of immediate and/or preventative quality related concerns.
- Ensures that the hold cage is managed according to procedure.
- Maintains organization and cleanliness following the 5S disciplines within the Quality area of responsibility.
- Maintains and promotes professional behavior while working within and representing AFA.
- Collaborate with Product Development Manager on new material development efforts and technical service requests
- Prepare testing summaries and reports
- Operate laboratory carding and needling machines
- Operate laboratory test instruments (tensile tester, spectrophotometer, environmental chambers, etc.)
- Maintains and reads/interprets customer specifications. Measure and tests parts as required.
- Assist with product design by reading part drawings and interpreting customer requests for material
- Perform part testing to OEM specifications using environmental chambers and other test equipment
- Occasional travel to supplier and/or customer locations on an as needed basis
- Fill in for Laboratory Technicians as needed (vacation, sick coverage)
- Other duties as needed
**Job Requirements**:
- Nonwoven Needlepunch Line Experience (preferred)
- Thermoforming Experience (preferred)
- Demonstrated leadership abilities (mandatory)
- Very high attention to detail, with demonstrated ability in problem solving (mandatory)
- Ability to read and interpret part drawings and customer specifications
- Intermediate lab testing experience (will train)
- Computer literacy required including Microsoft office
- High School diploma or Equivalent

Pay: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
