This position will end effective one year from start date. Subsequent annual renewal of employment will be based upon performance review, progress towards research goals, and continuation of funding.

Purpose

The primary purpose of this position is to carry out research to identify myeloid cells and signals in the leukemic microenvironments of multiple organs, including the CNS, that promote progression of distinct molecular subtypes of T-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia in mouse models, and to validate these results with primary patient samples. This research assistant will also carry out experiments to determine if depletion of myeloid cells or inhibition of relevant myeloid-mediated signals synergizes with conventional chemotherapy treatments. In addition, job duties will include managing the mouse colony used for T-ALL experiments, viably freezing primary T-ALL stocks, and assisting with lab upkeep.

**Responsibilities**:
- Perform and analyze experiments to determine how myeloid cells in the leukemic microenvironment of different organs promote progression of T-ALL.- Manage mouse colony needed for experiments and freeze new primary T-ALL stocks.- Help with basic lab upkeep/ lab tasks.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in related field. Experience with mouse colony husbandry and genotyping. _Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate._

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with histology and immunohistochemistry. Experience with CNS profusion/dissection. Experience with flow cytometry. Experience with transcriptional profiling.

Salary Range

$35,568 + depending on qualifications
