Wolfe Research is seeking a **Biopharmaceuticals Equity Research Associate** to join its team based in midtown New York. Wolfe Research was voted #6 on both a weighted and unweighted basis for equity research during 2023 by institutional clients in the prestigious Institutional Investor All-America Research Poll, trailing only significantly larger bulge bracket firms, who have historically not been viewed as our peers. The firm’s clients include most of the world’s largest asset managers (mutual funds, pension funds, hedge funds). Our firm covers publicly traded companies in many different industries across the US and abroad - the main focus is quality research, but we also do investment banking.
Responsibilities & Requirements:
- Familiarity with the biopharmaceutical sector, as described above
- Creative thinker with strong problem-solving skills: working with large data sets in Excel/Access, and ability to source and process information independently
- Demonstrated ability to generate ideas: work closely and communicate effectively in a time sensitive environment, ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines, strong organizational skills, client service minded and strong writing skills
- Technical skills: Bloomberg and/or FactSet skills helpful; Excel (macros, pivot tables, conditional formatting, short cuts).
- Strong communication skills: particularly an ability to write concisely using correct grammar
- Comfortable working 10+ hour workdays and some work on occasional weekends
- Series 7, 63, 86 & 87 licensure is preferred, or expected to be completed within the first 12 months of joining
**Education**:
- BA/BS required, concentration must be in a scientific area relevant to the job
- Demonstrated academic ability with a minimum 3.5 GPA
- MBA, CPA, PharmD or PhD in a scientific area relevant to the job is not required, but is a plusAbout Wolfe
