**The incumbent in this position will work a schedule concurrent with the 10-month Sarasota County academic calendar.**

**Your Specific Responsibilities**:
Personnel in the Nursing Program Specialist position are expected to provide and coordinate generalized school health services at assigned schools according to local School Health Services Plan, established protocols, and supervisor’s instructions. Nursing Program Specialists will also manage and coordinate special projects related to School Health as outlined in the local School Health Services Plan, established protocols, and supervisor’s instructions. Performs other duties as assigned per supervisor’s instructions with adjustable scheduling. All these duties are further broken down and explained in the position description for a Nursing Program Specialist.

**Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities**:

- Knowledge of nursing practice
- Interpersonal Skills
- Ability to Organize, prioritize, and schedule.
- Ability to make visits/meetings outside school setting.
- Ability to operate carious machines and equipment such as computers, copiers, fax machines, etc.

**Qualifications**:
**_Minimum - _**
- Licensure as a Registered Nurse in accordance with Florida Statute 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.27 or possess a nursing multi-state license through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- Valid Florida driver’s license or the ability to obtain one

**_Preferred - _**
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing or other health related fields
- One year of professional nursing experience
- School health nursing experience
- Home Health experience
- Master’s degree in nursing, public health, or a related field
