**Position Title**: Safety & Security Team Lead
**Rate of Pay**: $18.00 per hour
**Position Purpose**:
Provides leadership and guidance to Safety & Security Representatives while carrying out the duties of a Safety & Security Representative during events, including the annual OC Fair. This is a temporary seasonal position not to exceed 122 days.
**Essential Functions**:
- Patrols the fairgrounds property on foot, bicycle or by vehicle to ensure the safety and security of patrons, employees, business partners, and guests.
- Acts as ambassador for the OCFEC by answering inquiries from patrons, employees, business partners and guests, and responds to requests for assistance.
- Ensures a safe environment by maintaining awareness of surrounding reporting any safety or suspicious behavior.
- Inspects property buildings and structures and reports potential security risks and/or needed repairs.
- Instructs and leads a team of approximately 3 to 20 Safety & Security Representatives to perform duties as directed by the Safety & Security Supervisors.
- Assists in the training and development of Safety & Security Department Representatives.
- Coordinates and schedules breaks for Safety & Security Department Representatives.
- Assists in investigating incidences and contributes to written reports.
- Provides input to Safety & Security Supervisors on employee performance and behavior issues.

**Qualifications**:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Valid CA driver’s license required.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills, particularly in dealing with others in difficult situations.
- Ability to lead other employees by positive example.
- Available to work all 23 days of the annual OC Fair (mid July
- mid August).
- Ability to work outside the normal business day/week as demanded by events and programs.
**Preferences**:
- Previous security experience.
- Previous leadership experience.

Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
