**Reports To**:Classroom teacher, Building Principal
- **Position Goal**:Under general supervision, provides assistance to a Pre-Kindergarten teacher and assists in the implementation of classroom programs.
- **ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:_Other duties may be assigned._
The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following fundamental duties:
- Reviews instructional plans with the classroom teacher in order to implement daily instruction.
- Assists in planning and arranging a physical classroom environment that is conducive to learning.
- Assists in making available teaching materials as needed by the teacher.
- Assists children during learning and planned activity time as new materials are introduced.
- Reinforces materials introduced by the teacher.
- Assists in supervising field trips, walking tours and bus trips.
- Assists in making arrangements for speakers to come into the classroom.
- Participates in in-service training programs.
- Participates in parental conferences.
- Assists in carrying out the classroom activities.

- EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
High school diploma or its equivalent.
