**To Qualify**

**Minimum Qualifications.** **Applicants must**:

- Have a valid Bachelor’s degree.
- Have completed major coursework in accounting.
- Have progressive accounting work experience in a public environment.
- Have excellent computer skills, including advanced skill in the use of Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Must be able to communicate clearly and concisely, orally and in writing.
- Be able to accurately perform detail work involving written or numeric data and to make mathematical calculations rapidly and accurately.

**Desirable Qualifications.** **Preferred applicants**:

- Have become a CPA or are CPA eligible.
- Have considerable knowledge of municipal accounting, purchasing systems and procedures, and Governmental Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) as promulgated by the Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB).
