**The Title**:
Packaging Team Support I

**The Role**:
The packaging team member is responsible for effectively working with their team and following daily work instructions. The Packaging Department is responsible for packing products for our restaurants and grocery stores. Initially, work will consist of very specific tasks, with the potential to learn how to operate machinery and advance in your role. You will help set up the packaging lines, feed production equipment, place packaged products in bins, and participate in the end-of shift sanitation and cleaning activities. You will follow company recipes and procedures to ensure production consistency. You will follow quality and safety standards. You will also collaborate with cross functional departments to ensure timely and efficient production.

**What **You’ll** Do**:

- Set up the packaging area and equipment for production
- Assist with the packaging of post-high-pressure-processed products, including lidding, labeling, casing and palletizing operations.
- Transport raw materials and finished goods between the warehouse and packaging area using a manual or electric pallet jack
- Visually inspect packaged products and ensure all products are properly labeled and packaged
- Assist the team with general sanitation activities following product changeovers and at the end of the production shift.
- Partner with the team to ensure timely and efficient production to embrace collective ambition
- Prepare documentation (written or digital) as required for food safety, quality and production tracking activities
- Adhere to all safety guidelines (both personnel and food safety-related) and good manufacturing practices
- Take initiative on designated responsibilities without needing reminders from managers
- Abide by policies and procedures that support the service mindset
- Manage timeline expectations within and across teams, deliver on our responsibilities accordingly
- Earn the trust of Team Members and Managers by consistently embracing CAVA’s values
- Show discipline in bringing consistent performance, communication, and attitude to the job every day
- Actively contribute to your department in order to complete tasks and meet company goals
- Recognize the emotional stake each Team Member has in personal and organizational success of this business

**The Qualifications**:

- Food processing/packaging experience preferred
- You must be able to begin work between 6:30am and 7am Monday through Thursday and you must be able to work up to 11 hours per day.
- We target 4 days and 40 hours.
- You must demonstrate proper clock management and maintain a strong attendance.
- You must be able to read and follow packaging instructions and procedures (in English or Spanish) to ensure the batches are made correctly.
- You must maintain close concentration and visual attention to assigned tasks.
- You must be willing and able to follow instructions.
- You must have good verbal communication skills.
- You must be willing and able to work efficiently and with alacrity.

**Physical Requirements**:

- Physical dexterity, ability lift up to 45 lbs. and push/pull rolling heavy carts, and containers.
- The ability to work in varied environmental conditions (dry, cold)
- The ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours a day
- Must be able to identify, assess and observe detail and follow instructions
- Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively.
- Ability to squat, kneel, bend and twist
- Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner

**Allergens: We prepare products with milk and sesame **containing** ingredients. Team members must be able to work with these ingredients.**
