**Position**:Entry-Level Trainee Facilities Engineer

**Location**:Gowanus, Brooklyn, NY

**Type**: Full-Time, Permanent

**Responsibilities**:

- Assist in the maintenance, repair, and operation of facility systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.
- Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance tasks on facility equipment.
- Support senior mechanics and engineers in diagnosing and resolving technical issues.
- Participate in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new equipment and systems.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment performance, and inventory.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Learn to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Respond to facility emergencies and perform corrective actions as needed.
- Assist in the development and implementation of facility improvement projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors and senior team members.

**Qualifications**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in a related field is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and a keen interest in facilities engineering.
- Basic knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems is desirable.
- 2 to 3 years in the HVAC trade required preferably in a building setting.
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and processes.
- Physical ability to perform manual labor, including lifting, climbing, and working in various positions.

**Special requirements/physical demands**:

- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. following appropriate safety procedures.
- Be able to lift, pull and push materials and equipment up to 50 lbs. occasionally to complete assigned job

tasks.
- Work in an upright standing position for long period of time; be able to reach overhead; have full range of

mobility in upper and lower body.
- Be able to work in various positions, including, but not limited to stooping, standing, bending over, sitting,

kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time, climbing stairs, navigating the property/building

quickly and easily as required to meet the job functions.
- Climb ladders and work at heights above ground level.
- Ability to use scissor lifts to work at extended heights at 22 - 29 feet above ground.
- Ability to work in different environmental working conditions. (e.g., heat, cold, wind, rain, humidity)
- Repeat various motions with the wrists, hands and fingers.

**Hours + Compensation**:
The schedule for this position is an 8-hour shift from Monday to Sunday with schedules between 7:30- 10:30pm. Evening and weekend work required. The salary range for this role is $76,960 annually. Benefits include health insurance, employer-sponsored retirement plan, generous paid vacation and PTO, a CitiBike membership, and TransitChek.
