Job Summary:
Stellar Pharmacy Services, Inc. is interviewing for a full-time DME Biller. The schedule is Monday through Friday 9am-5:30pm. This position will be based out of our Avondale Pennsylvania office. The DME Biller will be primarily responsible for DME billing.
SIGN ON BONUS
**Responsibilities**:
1. Verifies insurance coverage via internet websites and/or telephone verification daily.
2. Enters all patient data, DME items (new or refills) and ancillary supplies are entered into Brightree computer system and creates new patient packets.
3. Contacts all patients and facilities to ensure DME needs are fulfilled.
4. Ensures all necessary DME supplies are delivered in an appropriate timeframe.
5. Bills all supplies and equipment products using internet websites (e.g. Promise and Navinet) and internal electronic programs.
6. Identifies and resolves patient and facility issues or concerns.
7. Notifies Pharmacy Manager of any concerns or issues regarding patients or facilities.
8. Maintains detailed and accurate patient records in compliance with all CHAP policies and procedures.
9. Answers and returns all phone inquiries in a prompt and professional manner to ensure patient and facility concerns are addressed and handled immediately.
10. Updates demographic information, authorizations, and prescriptions when needed.
11. Adheres to insurance guidelines and keeps informed of any changes to such guidelines. Documents and communicates all necessary information appropriately.
12. Reviews all HCFAS (health care finance administration forms) to verify correct data entry before electronic transfer to payer.
13. Performs daily billing of electronic claims and clears pharmacy queue on a daily basis.
14. Files all appropriate patient paperwork daily.
15. Sends correspondence to patients and facilities. (e.g. delivery confirmations and customer information checklists)
16. Maintains a weekly calendar or other organizational tools to guide and document workload progress.
17. Cross trains in the various billing areas to be familiar and knowledgeable.
19. Process and mail out incentives.
20. Contacts all patients to determine product, incentive and service needs are complete.
21. Ensures all necessary products, incentive and service supplies are delivered in an appropriate time frame.
22. Complete call logs.
23. Assist in the mailroom as necessary or required.
24. Participates in meetings, special projects, and in-services.
**Requirements**:
- Must have DME billing experience.
- Knowledge of Internet Explorer, Microsoft Office, and Windows operating system.
- Skill in time management.
- Skill in gathering and analyzing information.
- Ability to read, write, and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients, customers, and other employees of the organization.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to clients, customers, and other employees of the organization.
- Knowledge of reference tools.
