The Supervising Special Investigator I (SSI I) is responsible for planning, organizing and directing a unit of field investigators in the performance of their duties. The SSI I, will monitor and assess all case referrals, assign work, review casework to ensure high quality investigative report findings. - Special Requirements

The SOQ must be typed in Arial 12-point font and must not exceed two pages in length. Applications without an SOQ may not be considered. The SOQ must detail your interest in the California Department of Social Services and how your education and experience would make you a good fit for the position. The Statement of Qualifications must address the following:

- 1. Strong leadership and management experience, demonstrating an ability to create a clear vision, set goals and expectations, encourage initiative and accountability at all levels.
- 2. Demonstrated experience in the successful management of a program with field operations including planning, organizing and directing program operations.
- 3. Demonstrated experience setting priorities, delegating tasks, and making sound decisions in a fast paced environment.
- 4. Demonstrated experience coaching employees and creating a work environment that stimulates learning, encourages growth, and recognizes individual achievements to ensure peak performance and quality customer service.
- 5. Demonstrated experience in the development of uniform investigative policies and procedures to ensuring all assignments and cases are investigated thoroughly and uniformly.
- 6. Demonstrated experience in clearly communicating sensitive, complex, urgent or highly visible issues in simple terms that can be easily understood by individuals at multiple levels including staff, management, stakeholders and the general public.
