- **Cultivates nourished communities** through direct work with low-income individuals. We provide trauma-informed experiences (both in person and online) that build resilience and healthy dietary behaviors. This work is centered in California.
- **Catalyzes organizational transformation** by providing innovative training, technical assistance, and consulting that builds partner capability to implement trauma-informed nutrition initiatives. We have 300+ partners across the US. We work with public health departments, food banks and pantries, afterschool programs, medical clinics, senior centers, health clinics, and affordable housing providers.
- **Informs policy at all levels** by promoting trauma-informed nutrition security at the county, state, and national level via working groups, collaboratives, and conference presentations.

**Roles and Responsibilities**

Leah’s Pantry is hiring a part-time Food Navigator to support food distributions at affordable housing sites. This position will be directly responsible for sites in Alameda and Contra Costa counties. This position will help support on-site food distributions for residents of affordable housing sites.

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

- Food Navigator—Housing (4 sites)_
- Understand food security and basic needs of residents living in affordable housing communities.
- Create relationships with residents to encourage program participation
- Assist with on-site food distributions, including transportation of food, pre-bagging food, and both pantry-style and delivery-style distribution
- Remind residents about upcoming distributions
- Contribute ideas for improving the program

**Qualifications**
- Relevant work experience or strong interest in the field of food security, public health, nutrition, or community organizing
- Available to work on the 4th Tuesday of the month, the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of the month, and the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Thursdays of the month between 8 a.m.5 p.m. PST
- Must live in or be willing to travel to multiple locations in Alameda and Contra Costa Counties
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs, walk around, and stand for long periods of time (dollies and carts provided to assist)
- Must have reliable transportation

**Skills**
- High-level understanding of food security, food deserts, and basic needs
- Proven skills in community and individual relationship-building
- Some training or experience with trauma-informed care
- Attention to detail, ability to multitask
- Excellent people skills
- Able to communicate complex information clearly

Pay: $27.00 per hour
