Under the direction of the Tax Administrator (TA) II, the TA I performs as manager of the Returns, Payments & Refunds Analysis Group (RPRAG) in the Accounting and Compliance Enterprise System (ACES) Management Bureau (AMB).
The RPRAG is responsible for providing maintenance and support of the ACES system as it relates to returns, payments, and refunds activities for California payroll taxes and Unemployment Insurance and Disability Insurance benefit overpayment establishments. This includes system analysis, recommendations for configuration changes, and system testing. This group performs work of a highly complex nature, with significant decision making authority, to support workload management, revenue realization, data security, and customer service.
The incumbent will plan, organize, direct and work collaboratively with Tax Branch management and staff, Information Technology Branch partners, vendor staff, and contacts from stakeholder organizations within and outside of EDD. The incumbent is required to have specialized knowledge of the EDD returns, payments and refund processes and ACES system functionality.
This position is headquartered in Sacramento and may be eligible for telework under EDD's telework policy. California Government Code Section 14200 requires employees to reside in California to telecommute. Employees are required to report to their headquarters office, as needed. Travel expenses to and from the assigned headquarters are the responsibility of the employee.
