Responsible for Medicare Notice of Elections, billing, posting payments, and collection of accounts receivable. Responsible for the overall administration of the billing process and Hospice Austin reporting requirements and supervises AR staff.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Responsible for notice of elections, billing, posting payments, and collection of accounts receivable from Medicare.
- Responsible for the implementation and overall administration of monthly billing process.
- Provides support and primary back up to Accounts Receivable.
- Provides support and Back up to accounts payable (Medical Only)
- Provides support for general accounting month-end close processes.
- Other duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Five years medical billing and collections experience
- Billing/Coding certification (CBCS, AAPC-CPC)
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD coding.
- Experience with insurance verification and pre-authorizations.
- Outstanding ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Ability to handle confidential information.
- Valid Texas driver’s license, auto liability insurance, and safe driving record.

**REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES**:

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of office computer software required including knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Office products and experience with electronic medical records (EMR).
- Strong analytics, excel, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with appeals, contracts & credentialing.
- Experience with medical billing clearing houses, third-party software, Medicare & Medicaid.
