We are currently seeking a talented and experienced Building Inspector/Building Official to join our team. This position offers great opportunity for dynamic, motivated self-starters to work on a variety of work assignments. You’ll be a member of our highly respected team of professionals with a full complement of resources to support you and exciting projects to keep you challenged.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Responsible for meeting all state and locally mandated code compliance and reporting requirements.
- Assists in the development and administration of department and division goals, objectives, policies and procedures.
- Serve as the primary liaison with our clients in this area and is responsible for ensuring that we deliver the highest level of customer service
- Responsible for attending department and community meetings as required by the client.
- Prepares program budget and monitors work to ensure that funds and staff time are used effectively and efficiently; analyzes work flow, assignments, priorities and staffing levels.
- Analyzes, reviews, and prepares code amendments or supplements.
- Perform some plan reviews both commercial and residential
- Supervise building department staff.

**KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS**:

- Be able to demonstrate extensive knowledge of local building code regulations, policies and procedures
- Have solid computer skills and experience using MS Office programs
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Exercise initiative and display independent judgment
- Be self-directed and self-motivated
