**Foreperson (Foreman)**:
This position assigns and oversees crews, and is responsible for completing tasks within set deadlines, and a variety of other supervisory duties as necessary.

- American Lighting and Signalization (ALS) provides street lighting and traffic signalization construction, maintenance, and emergency response services in the Southeastern and Mid-Atlantic United States. Our major customers include state departments of transportation (DOTs), investor-owned and municipal utilities, commercial retail land developments, and commercial road contractors._

**Job Type**: Full-Time +, Non-Exempt

**Pay**:

**Essential Functions & Responsibilities**:

- Supervises a crew to ensure proper administration of training, disciplinary action, work production, adherence to safety practices, and interpretation of policies.
- Responsible for training crews on proper job briefing techniques and work tasks and ensuring hazards associated with the job are mitigated.
- Required to perform two Job Briefing Observations per week.
- Directs the crew members on specific job tasks.
- Receives and interprets orders by the General Foreperson/Project Manager.
- Participates in company training of all regional safety guidelines and is required to perform all work by the regional safety policies.
- Responsible for the accuracy of records.
- Directs emergencies and assists with accident reports and incident investigations.
- Responsible for proper working conditions and necessary repairs to tools and equipment.
- Confers with client’s representatives, customers, property owners, public, other contractors, and representatives of utilities and governmental agencies as needed.
- Meets with Manager, Utility Coordinator, Safety Representatives, and others.
- Other duties as required or requested by Supervisors.

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Ability to oversee multiple crews.
- Strategic, problem-solving abilities; can identify potential job site hazards.
- Able to read, follow prints and visualize the job build.
- Excellent communication abilities, especially with General Foreperson/Project Manager.

**Education & Experience**:

- 2+ years experience as a Foreperson.
- Experience using Microsoft Excel and Outlook.

**Pre-Screen**:

- Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

**License & Certifications**:

- Driver License required.
- Ability to obtain DOT medical card required.

**Travel**:

- Willing to travel locally, statewide, and regionally as needed. Overnight stays may be necessary.

**Physical Requirements**:

- **RARE **(less than 10%): crawling, climbing, gripping, lifting up to 50 lbs.
- **OCCASIONAL **(up to 33%): standing, stooping, kneeling, squatting, body-twisting, sense of touch, manual dexterity, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., reaching, range-of-motion, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs, balancing.
- **FREQUENT **(up to 66%): walking, sitting, climbing on/off a truck, reading, lifting up to 10 lbs.
- **CONTINUOUS **(up to 100%): speaking clearly, seeing distant, seeing, hearing-speech-range, depth-perception, color vision.
