Job Summary

The Groundperson - Utilities is a critical member of our team at American Lighting and Signalization, LLC. This role involves assisting with various tasks related to utility installation, construction, and maintenance. As a Groundperson, you will work closely with our Foreperson and other team members to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble materials on the ground for installation by linepersons or apprentices.
  • Flag traffic and may require training to perform this task.
  • Excavate to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specifications.
  • Operate various tools for the work, including manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-a-long, jack hammer, and hand line.
  • Clear work areas around structures.
  • Work extended hours, including nights and overtime during emergencies.
  • Interact with public and private property owners to communicate work to be performed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreperson related to utility line work.
Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies.
  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
