**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Groundperson to join our team at American Lighting and Signalization, LLC. As a Groundperson, you will play a crucial role in assisting with the installation and maintenance of utility lines and infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble materials on the ground for installation by line personnel or apprentices.
  • Flag traffic and may be required to have training.
  • Excavate to assist in the installation of structures or cable as required by contract specifications.
  • Operate various tools for the work, including manual digging devices, wrenches, hammers, come-a-long, jackhammer, and hand line.
  • Clear work areas around structures.
  • Work extended hours, including nights and overtime during emergencies.
  • Communicate with public and private property owners to inform them of work to be performed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Foreperson related to utility line work.

Requirements:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to operate and service all required tools and equipment.
  • Must be able to work long hours and overtime during emergencies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

  • Rarely (less than 10%): climbing poles.
  • Occasionally (up to 33%): sitting, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, climbing stairs.
  • Frequently (up to 66%): stooping, squatting, body-twisting, manual dexterity, climbing on/off a truck, gripping, reading.
  • Continuously (up to 100%): standing, walking, sense of touch, speaking clearly, seeing distant, lifting over 10 lbs. to 50 lbs., seeing, reaching, range of motion, hearing-speech range, depth perception, color vision, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, balancing, lifting up to 10 lbs., lifting up to 50 lbs.
