**Job Description - Hydraulic Hose Field Sales Representative**

**Department**: Sales

**FLSA - **Exempt

**PURPOSE**

**Requirements and Duties**:
Self-motivated and driven to win business. Ability to prioritize, plan, great time-management skills and a sense of urgency. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills. A hands-on, team player who goes the extra mile to provide exceptional customer service.
- Determine customer needs, provide technical solutions to meet or exceed expectations.
- Contacts current and prospective customers to solicit business orders.
- Recommends products to customers, based upon customer’s needs and interests.
- Answers questions about products, prices, and quality, durability, and credit terms.
- Meets with customers to demonstrate and explain features and benefits of products and services.
- Prepares lists of prospective customers, call reports, and other reports as required.
- Reviews sales records and current market information to determine value or sales potential of product.
- Instructs customers on use of products.
- Investigates and resolves customer complaints.
- Prepares drawings, estimates, and bids to meet specific needs to customers.
- Obtains credit information on prospective customers.
- Oversees delivery or installation of products to equipment.
- Achieves high understanding of products, learn about new products.
- Prepare quotations and proposals, follow up, negotiate terms, and close transactions.
- Achieve sales and profit goals by developing and retaining existing customers and by opening new business.
- Strong mechanical aptitude.

**Education**:High School Graduate or equivalent; degree in industrial distribution or engineering preferred.

**Experience**:One year of experience with hose and fitting products is preferred.

**Compensation**:

- Base salary plus commission
- Business and mileage expense reimbursement
