**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Processes and administers the Company’s bi-weekly payroll; reviews weekly timesheets, tracks hours and accruals, and calculates payroll hours and costs.
- Responsible for reporting and deducting payroll taxes and other mandatory and voluntary payroll deductions, i.e. garnishments, retirement & benefits deductions, and other miscellaneous deductions.
- Ensures that compensation for overtime work is calculated at the appropriate rate.
- Tracks pay periods, hourly wages, salaries, overtime.
- Tracks and reconciles benefit accruals such as PTO, additional holidays, & sick time.
- Maintains payroll records to include, but not limited to payroll registers, quarterly & annual payroll reports.
- Prepares, submits, and maintains certified payroll documents in accordance with state agency and client requirements; reports and makes payments to the appropriate training fund for field inspectors.
- Performs various journal entries, account reconciliations; posts and reconciles payroll register with general ledger.
- Works cooperatively and communicates well with the Human Resources Department in the areas of payroll and benefits administration, new hire set-up, separation needs as it relates to benefits terminations, accounting and payroll management, and payroll compliance needs.
- Updates and maintains employee information including new hire, termination, status change, etc. in accounting, payroll, and other third-party benefits software from PCRs.
- Assists Payroll Manager to obtain new State tax IDs for out of state employees and works with ADP to ensure sure the payroll taxes are set up correctly and submitted in a timely manner.
- Provides excellent customer service to employees regarding payroll issues and related questions.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Associate/bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting (preferred).
- 3-5 years of experience in clerical accounting, payroll or related field.
- Previous experience administering Union Contracts and Prevailing Wages preferred.
- Proven experience working in a fast-paced organization and capacity to keep track of numerous ongoing tasks.
- Highly proficient in computer skills and technology specifically Microsoft Excel & Word.
- Accurate and meticulous in data entry with exceptional calculation and memory skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a variety of unique and diverse people and personalities.
- Strong clerical, administrative and general office skills.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.

The offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities in addition to internal equity and geographic location. The base compensation range for this position is $33.65 - $52.38 per hour.
