- Participate in the development of training programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), and 3S housekeeping programs in a new process start up environment.
- Proactively inform Operations Manager and Human Resources of employment needs to effectively staff production area. Participate in the interview and hiring process of non-exempt workforce.
- Promote employee morale including support, communication, and education on Key Principles and Daicel Principles.
- Provide thorough and complete “end of shift” pass down to the oncoming supervisor and complete end of shift reports as required.
- Knowledge of Syspro and LPS functions-opening/closing jobs, job reconcile, serial maintenance, inventory status, etc.is preferred.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts-is preferred.
- Understand, balance and manage fundamental business goals - safety, quality, productivity, scrap, and downtime.
- Take appropriate measures to ensure all products are completed to production and technical specifications (including SPC) regarding quality.
- Coordinate and assign work schedules, making necessary adjustments to achieve daily production requirements.
- Responsible for proper training of production personnel in assigned operation.
- Ensure that all production documentation is current, properly maintained, and properly utilized by applicable personnel. Ensure self-audits are performed.
- Read, interpret, and execute manufacturing procedures, engineering shop work requests, and engineering drawings.
- Counsel employees to ensure that productivity objectives are met and good employee relations are prevalent.
- Optimize machine “UP” and “RUN” times’ utilization.
- Troubleshoot production problems.
- Ensure records of personnel activities, such as attendance, PTO, job performance, disciplinary actions, etc., are accurately, timely and fairly maintained.
- Maintain production reports and records.
- Instruct and enforce production methods consistent with World Class manufacturing concepts (i.e. KanBan, Constraint Management, etc.)

**EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE**

Minimum educational experience requires a High School Diploma. An Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, or other technical related disciplines is strongly preferred. Minimum experience includes five years in a high volume production environment consisting of some combination of safety and environmental, training, quality, materials, team leadership, production performance tracking and documenting, problem solving, group presentation, effective meeting leadership and/or supervisory experience. New production start-up experience is a plus.
