- $11,374.50 [step 1] - $13,855.54 [step 5]. Step placement may be negotiable dependent upon education and experience. Administrators that possess earned doctorates from accredited institutions are awarded an annual stipend of $1,842.81.

The estimated maximum value of this employer-paid benefits package is approximately $41,360 annually.

**Primary Function**
- Responsible for the leadership, administration, planning, and development of the District’s Nursing Education Department and its Registered Nurse (RN) educational program; ensures the quality of the program and its compliance with relevant laws, regulations and external accreditation standards; supervises assigned employees.

**Minimum Qualifications**
To be eligible for this position, you must meet and provide evidence of the following minimum qualifications:

- **Experience**:

- One (1) years’ experience as a Director or Assistant Director of Nursing with validated performance of administrative responsibilities consistent with administering a registered nursing program, including coordinating and directing all activities in developing, implementing, and managing the program, including its fiscal planning pursuant to Title 16, - 1420(h);
- Two (2) years’ experience teaching in pre
- or post-licensure registered nursing programs; and
- One (1) year’s continuous, full-time or its equivalent experience direct patient care as a registered nurse or clinical instructor within the last five years; **OR **equivalent experience and/or education, as determined by the BRN.
- **_Note:_**_ For work experience, a “year” is defined as equivalent to 40 hours per week for 12 months. For supervisory experience, the experience must be at a professional level (i.e. evaluation and/or discipline of staff)._

**AND**
- **Education**:A Master’s or higher degree from an accredited college or university which includes course work in nursing, education or administration.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- Coursework beyond the minimum qualifications in Nursing or a related field.
- Teaching experience in a pre-licensure registered nursing program.
- Experience with grant writing.
- CPR certified.
- Participation in local and/or national nursing organization.

**Licenses and/or Certificates**
- Current license or eligibility for licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of California.
- Possession of a valid, current California driver’s license by time of appointment.
