TITLE: Member Service Representative
REPORTS TO: Branch Manager
Purpose: Consistently provides an atmosphere of high quality member service. Provide account information by phone or in person, as well as information on the full range of credit union products and services. Open accounts for members, resolve issues, cross-sell, and professionally handle the member’s daily needs. Consult with members and provide solutions to match their needs. Performs all teller job duties also as required.
**Responsibilities**:
1. Greet and welcome members and visitors to the credit union in a professional manner. Provide prompt, efficient, and accurate service in the processing of transactions.
2. Enthusiastically support the credit union’s focus on member sales and service.
- Actively seek out sales opportunities and cross-sell opportunities and promote credit union products and services based on member needs.
- Consistently meet or exceed sales goals to support overall credit union sales and financial goals.
3. Provide in-person and by-telephone general and specific service-related information concerning credit union services or policies.
5. Respond to members’ requests, problems, and complaints and/or direct them to the appropriate person for specific information and assistance.
6. Open new accounts, and service existing accounts. Set up new account files, and provide members with all necessary information for membership.
9. Handle requests from members for transfers of shares to loan payments, share withdrawals, check requests, CD transactions, line of credit advances, and any other requests received from members.
10. Perform all teller job duties.
11. Complete dispute resolution forms.
12. Research accounts for deposit, withdrawal, and loan-payment discrepancies.
13. Assist members with the proper completion of payroll deduction and direct deposit cards.
14. Assist members in opening individual retirement accounts.
15. Redeem U.S. savings bonds.
16. Process wire transfers and foreign currency.
17. Process loan payments and member transactions over the phone.
18. Accept and process incoming mail.
19. Able to open and close the branch.
20. Represent and promote the credit union at external community and industry events, earning a minimum of 5 Community Involvement Points (CIP’s) per year.
21. Cross-train and backup other team members for selected critical job functions.
22. Other duties as assigned.
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 37.5 - 40 per week
