Supervisory Attorney Advisor

**Duties**:

- Plans, directs, and coordinates the work of subordinate supervisors engaged in carrying out investigative and enforcement functions of the agency.
- Oversees the Charge Receipt/Technical Information Unit which provides administrative and technical support to the enforcement units for the service of notices, conduct of counseling, pre-charge interviewing and receipt of inquiries.
- Supervisory responsibility for the Enforcement Units which plan and conduct detailed and comprehensive investigations of charges of employment discrimination from planning through investigation to analysis of findings and reporting of results.
- Provides oversight of negotiated settlements and conciliation agreements between EEOC and respondents. Provides administrative oversight in handling noncompliance as appropriate.

- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service
- Suitable for Federal employment, determined by a background investigation
- May be required to successfully complete a probationary period
- Must have an Active BAR Membership in Good Standing. If selected, must maintain active bar membership in good standing while employed as an attorney with EEOC
- This position is in the Excepted Service

**Qualifications**:

- For the GS-15:You must have earned a professional law degree (J.D. or LL.B.) from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association, be an active member of the BAR, and have four (4) years of professional legal experience with at least one year being equivalent to the GS-14 level.
- Professional legal education above the first professional law degree may be substituted for experience required as follows:(a) The second professional law degree (LL.M) may be substituted for one year of experience (b) The third law degree (J.S.D) may be substituted for one year of experience beyond the LL.M.
- Applicants must meet all eligibility requirements (e.g., time-in-grade and qualification requirements) within 30 days of the closing date specified in the vacancy announcement.
- Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

**Additional information**:
Relocation expenses will not be paid.
