The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data privacy law and regulations, with the ability to provide expert counsel and guidance to clients on a wide range of data protection matters, including incident response and data breach management.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on data privacy compliance issues, including GDPR, CCPA, and other relevant regulations.
- Draft and negotiate privacy-related agreements, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
- Stay informed about emerging data privacy trends and developments.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure compliance with data protection laws and regulations.
- Provide training and support to colleagues on data privacy best practices.
- Develop and implement incident response plans and protocols.
- Lead and manage data breach investigations, including coordination with forensic experts, communication with affected parties, and regulatory reporting.
- Advise clients on legal and regulatory obligations during and after a data breach.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Illinois or Missouri State Bar or eligibility for admission.
- 4+ years of experience practicing law, with a focus on data privacy and cyber security.
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, including GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA, etc.
- Experience in incident response and data breach management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
